This hiking tour of New Zealand offers the complete experience! Explore both the North and South Islands as you weave your way through the country on this hiking tour which has been carefully designed to maximise your time in the wilderness yet still take in iconic destinations. This tour has a well-balanced mix of accommodation from wilderness campsites to eco lodges. Also on offer are a range of activities including white water rafting, sea kayaking, glacier walking and mountain biking to complement the hikes superbly and keep this tour as diverse and exciting as the landscapes we explore.
We’ll hike the Jurassic-like rainforests and river gorges of Whirinaki Forest Park, spend two days trekking among Tongariro National Park’s active volcanoes and take an overnight hike to Mt Aspiring National Park.
During this tour we stay in a range of accommodation: on the overnight hikes we either stay in huts or tents. The rest of the time we stay in comfortable and clean lodges and cabins. Generally rooms are twin share. If you are travelling on your own there may be occasions when you are in a triple share room with fellow travellers of the same gender.
Enjoy exceptional optional extra activities including kayaking the beautiful Cathedral Cove coast of the Coromandel Peninsula, Mountain biking and soaking in the renowned hot pools of Hanmer Springs, guided walk on the spectacular Franz Josef Glacier and a thrilling white water rafting trip on the Rangitata River.
