About the Training Camp
Once in a while an opportunity comes along to combine all the aspects that make for the experience of a lifetime. For the keen cyclist and athlete in all of us the Ultimate Altitude Training Camp - Crossing the Andes offers an experience that surpasses the normal grind of daily training. Combining altitude training, the Andes, lots of road miles and a cultural experience all under the watchful eye of one of the worlds top sports coaches, Dr John Hellemans, this camp is like no other currently offered.
Individual pre-assessments prior to the Ultimate Altitude Training Camp and ongoing monitoring and management during and post the camp ensure each participant receives a personalised programme. Daily targets and goals are set with Dr Hellemans for each client as well as ongoing support during the day whilst training.
You may ask why Chile and Bolivia, why the Andes?
When scouting a location for the training camp the goal was clear, the location had to offer all the aspects to make the camp the ultimate altitude training camp whilst giving unique experiences outside the training as well. This meant we had to source high quality safe roads that go from sea level to over 4,707m with minimal traffic traveling a logical route over a mountain range that any cyclist would be proud to traverse, a reliable supply of nutritional food, the ability to support a mobile training camp, a cultural experience in a safe and politically stable environment for a variety of international athletes.
Who should attend?
If you are after a focused professional training camp encompassing high altitude training, nutritional and personal coaching in a new and exciting destination the Ultimate Altitude Training Camp is for you.
The training camp is aimed at experienced cyclists and triathletes, training and informal presentation will focus around maximizing the benefits of training and in particular at altitude. Ideal preparation for an upcoming race or event or as a boost to your current training regime.
