Full Tour Itinerary
Day One - Christchurch
After settling into the hotel the group meets for the first time in the afternoon. Time and weather permitting, we take a short drive up the nearby Port Hills to the Sign of the Kiwi, where guests can enjoy a coffee with magnificent views on a clear day.

Day Two - Christchurch to Twizel: Alps2Ocean
We leave Christchurch early and drive south through the Canterbury Plains heading towards Lake Tekapo where we get ready for our first ride. Starting on the edge of the lake famous for its turquoise waters, the ride takes in golden tussock land, surreal blue canals, and one of the trail’s best lookouts overlooking Lake Pukaki and the Southern Alps. We then ride to our destination of Twizel for the night.
Cycling: Alps 2 Ocean (A2O) - Lake Tekapo to Twizel (54km) Grade 2/Easy

Day Three - Twizel to Alexandra
After breakfast, we get on our bikes and continue on the next leg of the A2O to the edge of Lake Ohau. The Ben Ohau Range dwarfs all and sundry as you follow the lake foreshore towards Lake Ohau Village and its lodge – perfectly positioned for post-ride refreshments. After lunch we jump in the van and drive to Alexandra.

Day Four - Alexandra to Queenstown: Roxburgh Gorge Trail
We head out on our bikes first thing to ride the stunning Roxburgh Gorge. The trail also incorporates a 45 minute boat ride up the river (included in tour cost.). Then the van meets the group and drives to Queenstown, where we spend the evening.
Cycling: Clyde to Roxburgh Gorge = 12.5km, plus 21kms on the Roxburgh Gorge (+ 13km by jetboat), Grade 2-3 (Easy - Intermediate)

Day Five - Queenstown
Today we take a break from the bikes to explore one of the many activities Queenstown has to offer (all activities optional). We highly recommend an excursion to Milford or Doubtful Sound, or a trip to the Glow Worm Caves in Te Anau – all can be prebooked prior to travel and paid for on the day of the activity.

Day Six - Queenstown to Wanaka: Queenstown trail
In the morning you will cycle the incredible Queenstown trail to the legendary gold mining town of Arrowtown. From Arrowtown follow a cycle path to Kawarau Bridge. From here, the ride can be extended up the Gibbston River Wine Trail to drop in on some local wineries. Afterwards, we will be driven over the Crown Range for incredible views and past the famous Cardrona Hotel and then on to Wanaka where we will spend the night.
Cycling: Queenstown Trail to Arrowtown and Kawarau Bridge (46km). Gibbston Valley is an additional 8.7km

Day Seven - Wanaka to Fox Glacier
We jump on the bikes first thing this morning from the hotel and ride out around Lake Wanaka to Gladstone, past Lake Hawea. The van will take us through the Mt Aspiring National Park to Fox Glacier for the evening.
Cycling: Approx 35km (Wanaka to Gladstone)

Day Eight - Fox Glacier to Hokitika: West Coast Wilderness Trail
An incredible way to start the day for the early risers is to take a hike along Mirror Lake at sunrise, for an unforgettable view of the reflections of Mt Cook and Mt Tasman in the water (weather dependent of course!) Or perhaps a heli flight to land on Fox or Franz Josef Glacier might be more your scene? (Pre-booking essential). Then we drive to Ross and hop on our bikes to start our first ride on the West Coast Wilderness Trail from Ross to Hokitika.
Cycling:West Coast Wilderness Trail (Ross to Hokitika 33km) Grade 2/easy to Grade 3/intermediate (on-road sections are Grade 3/intermediate)

Day Nine - Hokitika to Westport - West Coast Wilderness Trail
It’s back on the bikes this morning for another stretch of the West Coast Wilderness trail – this time from Kumara to Greymouth, then we had back in the van to drive to Westport for the evening.
Cycling: Cycling: 31km, Grade 2/easy

Day Ten - Westport to Blenheim
Today is day to tempt the taste buds! Our driver will take our group to the world famous wine region of Marlborough, where our group can spend the afternoon wine tasting and sampling the local cuisine. What a way to end a tour!
Cycling: 10 – 30 km, depending on number of wineries visited

Day 11: Departure Day
It’s time to say goodbye to the land of the long white cloud!
Guests can catch a domestic flight from local airport in Blenheim, take the scenic train from Blenheim to Christchurch (approx 5 hours), which we can help arranged or alternatively, guests can transfer back to Christchurch in the van at no extra charge.
NB – guests booking flights out of Christchurch should book flights after 7pm, or for the following morning. Extra night accommodation in Christchurch can be booked for an additional cost.
