7 Day Self Guided Trail Tour - Christchurch to Dunedin (or Christchurch)
Ride the Amazing Alps 2 Ocean trail from the shoreline of Lake Pukaki and Lake Ohau beneath the Southern Alps with the majestic Aoraki/Mt Cook in the background. See vista views of the Mackenzie basin and cruise down the Waitaki Valley past lakes and rivers. Ride through vineyards and farmland on your way towards the Pacific coast to Oamaru with it's renowned Victorian precinct, cosy pubs and penguin colonies.

Price: $2049 per person (2 people minimum)
-Additional single group members will incur a single surcharge supplement of $1029
-E-bike upgrade available for $330 per person, or $395 per person if booking the Tokarahi Huts extension
-Tokarahi Huts Extension: Extra cost of $375pp (includes accommodation, dinner and breakfast , extra day standard bike hire and luggage transfers)
A $250 per person deposit is required at the time of booking.

Is this tour right for me?
This tour is designed for confident cyclists who are comfortable riding 35–82 km per day on Grade 2–3 cycle trails.
As this is a self-guided tour, you'll need to ride independently and be self-sufficient. Some sections of the trails are inaccessible to vehicles, so you should be confident in changing a tyre and making basic bike adjustments if required.
If you enjoy exploring at your own pace while we take care of the accommodation, luggage transfers and trip planning, this tour is an excellent choice.
If you're looking for more support or would prefer to ride with experienced guides on hand throughout your journey, we recommend one of our fully guided cycling tours, where our team takes care of everything so you can simply relax and enjoy the ride.

The Amazing Alps 2 Ocean Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Intercity bus transfers to Tekapo
Day 2: Tekapo – Twizel
Day 3: Twizel – Lake Ohau
Day 4: Lake Ohau to Omarama
Day 5: Omarama – Kurow
Day 6: Kurow to Oamaru
Day 7: Intercity bus transfer to Dunedin or Christchurch
Inclusions:
x6 nights accommodation as per itinerary (pre and post nights can be arranged on request for an additional cost)
x3 breakfasts, x1 lunch x1 dinner
Luggage transport during the entire journey (1 bag pp 15kg max)
Standard bike hire with ebike upgrade available for $330 per person, or $395 per person for the Tokarahi Huts extension
